Tips and tricks
Holojet is designed specifically for desktop inkjet printers. You'll see right away that it is an unusual paper, and you'll find that it really outperforms your expectations when handled with a little care.
You'll want to experiment to see the kinds of effects you can create - that's half the fun. When you print on Holojet, you'll notice that areas of light ink coverage will reflect more, revealing more of the holographic effect, while heavily coated areas reflect less. White areas of your photo or artwork will remain unprinted, letting Holojet shine right through. By manipulating your photos, you can create completely different effects from the same photo.
Before you begin, here are a few simple tips to ensure that you get the most exciting results.
- Set your printer to print the highest possible quality ("best," or "high-resolution photo") or dots per inch (dpi) to ensure the best image. Check your printer instructions to find out how to access these settings. And don't forget, you can achieve different results with different settings.
- Select "photo quality paper."
- Feed sheets manually, one at a time. The paper may curl slightly at the edges: you can flatten it slightly as you feed it through.
- Let the sheet dry for two minutes before you handle it.
- For the longest-lasting results, seal the print with a spray fixative.
